Seminole Spokes began in October 1969 as a Welcome Wagon club and is now known as Seminole Spokes, Inc. Our name is derived from the spokes of a wagon wheel where each spoke is essential to the integrity of the wheel.
Our mission is to undertake social and charitable programs and activities in our communities in an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie.
Our membership includes women from Central Florida, currently representing Orange, Seminole, Lake, and Volusia counties.
Although the emphasis is on newcomers, our renewing members (over 250) enjoy monthly meetings with local speakers in addition to an array of social activities and events. Some of these include “bucket list” trips all over the community, book clubs, bridge and bunco as well as myriad other card games, casual cooking, “dining in” and “dining out,” and activities for singles.
Our fundraising activities enable us to donate a significant amount of money to local charities selected each year. Fundraisers have included game days, bake sales, and an exciting auction. In addition, we contribute time and energy to projects such as heart pillows for surgical patients as well as holiday and birthday gift bags for the elderly.
We welcome you to join our group and enjoy some of our many activities. Hope to see you soon!
